Did you know you are legally required to ensure any hedges growing at your home or premises are not impeding on neighbouring properties or causing an obstruction in public areas? It’s your responsibility to ensure your hedges are kept in good condition and to acceptable standards. However, that doesn’t mean you need to remove them if they’ve become overgrown. Kingfisher Tree Services Ltd can care for them with our professional hedge trimming services.
Serving Exeter, Bristol, Taunton, and the surrounding areas, our family-run team of tree surgeons share over 25 years of experience in arboriculture and are approved by the National Trust. Please refer to our website gallery for images of our works to date in the southwest.
It’s not advisable to cut any hedge during the nesting season, from March to August. We will assess the hedge in question to ensure there are no nesting birds in situ, as the season is generally weather dependent, and there may be birds nesting outside of these months. If we discover any occupied nests, we will arrange to return to your property to re-evaluate within 4-6 weeks.
Our tree surgeons and hedge trimming team at Kingfisher Tree Services are fully qualified to maintain all hedge types in the UK, whether formal or informal. Examples of these include the following:
The main difference between these is how tightly they are cut. Following our hedge trimming services, the formal types will look neat, with defined lines and precise shapes. They add an air of style and class to any garden and are recommended by our tree surgeons for clients looking for a mature and conventional garden.
Informal hedges, on the other hand, display a more natural and relaxed shape. At Kingfisher Tree Services, we wouldn’t recommend cutting them too often but rather allowing their natural beauty to remain without causing a hindrance. Flowering hedges are also an alternative for our Exeter, Bristol, and Taunton clients who prefer a more colourful form of hedgerow.
All cutting is carried out with health and safety as a major consideration. We’ll ensure the general public's safety should our hedge-cutting services require us to work on public pavements in Exeter, Bristol, Taunton, or any surrounding areas we cover.
We carry out all aspects of our tree surgery and hedge trimming services, from the initial inspection to ensure there are no diseased or dead branches to bagging and removing all waste. We promise to leave your property pristine and your hedges revitalised and healthy.
